The Great Leap Forward
- an economic and social campaign of the Communist Party of China which attempted to use China's vast population to transform the country from a socialist economy into a modern communist society through rapid industrialization and collectivization.
- Mao Zedong led based on the Theory of Productive Forces, and intensified it after grain shortages in the fields of northwestern China.
